Authentication

All API requests require authentication via a Bearer token. Generate and manage your API keys from your dashboard. Keys are shown once at creation — store them securely.

Getting an API Key

1. Sign in to your spritesynth account 2. Navigate to Account → API Keys 3. Click "Create Key" and give it a name 4. Copy the key immediately — it will not be shown again

Using Your Key

Include your API key in the Authorization header of every request:

Authorization: Bearer ss_api_your_key_here

Key Management

You can create multiple keys with different names for different environments or applications. Keys can be revoked individually without affecting other keys. Each key tracks its own usage, last-used timestamp, and rate limit.

Rate Limits

API keys are rate-limited based on your subscription plan. Free tier keys are limited to 60 requests per minute. Higher tiers receive increased limits automatically.

Note: Never expose your API key in client-side code, version control, or public repositories. Use environment variables or secret management tools.
