Getting Started

Generate your first pixel art in under a minute with spritesynth's AI-powered tools.

Quick Start

  1. Sign up — Create a free account at spritesynth.com. You get 40 fast generations (lifetime, never expire) and 5 slower generations every day on the free tier.
  2. Generate — Enter a text prompt, pick a model (Pixflux for speed, Pixen for quality, Bitforge for balance), and hit Generate.
  3. Export — Download your sprite as PNG, embed it in a sprite sheet, or export directly for Unity, Godot, Aseprite, or Tiled.

Generate Your First Sprite

Type a description, choose a model, and click Generate. Results appear in seconds.

The generation panel — type a prompt, select your model, and hit Generate.

What You Get

Each generation produces a pixel art sprite at your chosen resolution. You can then:

  • Open it in the pixel art editor for hand-tweaking
  • Add it to a character, object, or tileset for game engine export
  • Download it directly as PNG

Feature Highlights

Multiple AI Models

Choose from three specialized models, each tuned for different trade-offs:

ModelSpeedQualityBest For
PixfluxFastGoodRapid iteration, prototyping
PixenModerateHighFinal production assets
BitforgeBalancedBalancedGeneral-purpose use

Watch: Pixflux vs Pixen vs Bitforge generating the same knight sprite. Notice the quality progression.

Character, Tileset & Object Generation

Generate complete game assets — not just single images:

  • Characters — Multi-directional sprites with idle, walk, attack, and hurt states.
  • Tilesets — Top-down, sidescroller, or isometric tiles sized to your game's grid.
  • Objects — Props, items, and environmental assets with state variations.

4-directional character sprite sheet

Built-in Pixel Art Editor

A full-featured PixiJS editor right in your browser:

  • Drawing tools (pencil, brush, eraser, fill, line, selection)
  • Layer system with blend modes and opacity
  • Animation timeline with onion skinning
  • Direct export to sprite sheets, GIF, and game engine formats

API Access

Integrate spritesynth into your own tools and pipelines:

  • REST API with API key authentication
  • Webhook support for async generation pipelines
curl -X POST https://api.spritesynth.com/v1/generations/image \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"description": "16x16 wizard sprite, fantasy"}'

MCP (AI Agent Integration)

Connect Claude, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible AI agent directly to spritesynth. Generate assets conversationally:

claude mcp add spritesynth https://api.spritesynth.com/mcp -t http \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_SANCTUM_TOKEN"

Then in Claude: "Generate a 32x32 dragon sprite with wings spread, using Pixen model"
