Tool Overview

The editor provides seven drawing tools for pixel art creation. Select tools from the toolbar or use keyboard shortcuts.

Mouse Controls

  • Left click — draw with the primary color
  • Right click — draw with the secondary color

This gives you quick access to two colors without switching.

Tools

Pencil (P)

Draws single pixels. The most precise tool for detailed pixel work.

  • Fixed 1px size
  • Perfect for fine details, outlines, and corrections

Brush (B)

Draws with a variable size from 1 to 8 pixels.

  • Adjust size using the toolbar slider or [ / ] keys

Eraser (E)

Removes pixels from the canvas.

Draws straight lines between two points.

  • Click start point, drag to end point
  • Hold Shift to snap to 45° increments
  • Uses primary color (left click) or secondary color (right click)

Fill (G)

Flood-fills a contiguous area with color.

  • Click on a pixel to fill all connected pixels of the same color
  • Useful for coloring large regions quickly
  • Respects layer boundaries

Selection (S)

Selects a rectangular area of the canvas.

  • Click and drag to define the selection
  • Move selected pixels by dragging inside the selection
  • Copy/paste with Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V
  • Delete selection contents with Delete

Eyedropper (I)

Samples a color from the canvas.

  • Click on any pixel to set it as the primary color
  • Hold Alt to temporarily activate eyedropper from any tool

Enable mirror mode for symmetrical drawing. When active, every stroke is reflected across the canvas center axis.

  • Toggle from the toolbar or press M
  • Useful for character sprites and symmetrical objects
